Unit Sizing
When planning for your new tub or shower, we need to check and see what space is available. For example, most tub/shower alcoves have a standard width of 5 feet. However, the dimension that often varies is the depth—how far the tub comes out into the room. This dimension is critical because it directly impacts the layout and functionality of your entire bathroom. For instance, building codes require a minimum finished space of 30 inches for a toilet to be comfortable and compliant. If your new tub is even slightly too deep, it can shrink the available space for your toilet, potentially leading to a cramped and non-compliant layout. By carefully measuring the space first, we ensure that your new tub not only fits perfectly but also integrates seamlessly with your other fixtures, maintaining a comfortable bathroom you can enjoy for years to come.
Next, let's discuss the drain location, which is a key technical detail for your new installation. For bathtubs, drains are almost always located on either the left or right-hand side. The easiest and most cost-effective approach is to choose a new tub that matches your existing drain location. While it' s certainly possible to move the drain to the opposite side if you prefer a different tub configuration, it is a more involved process. Also, if your home has older plumbing, such as cast iron or galvanized pipes, we will need to update the drain assembly to modern, durable PVC to ensure a reliable, long-lasting connection. Showers offer a bit more flexibility, with drains commonly positioned on the left, right, or in the center. Similar to a tub, matching the existing drain location simplifies the installation. However, if the project is in a basement, any plan to move the drain needs careful consideration. Relocating a drain on a concrete slab involves breaking up the concrete and re-routing the drain.

To make your new shower as comfortable and safe as possible, we offer several options for seating and support. For a seamless, built-in solution, many of our shower models can be ordered with a molded seat integrated directly into the shower wall, typically positioned opposite the drain. If you prefer more flexibility or a different aesthetic, we also offer stylish teakwood flip-down seats that add a spa-like touch, as well as comfortable cushioned flip-down seats. These can be professionally installed on most of our shower models, allowing you to add secure seating where it works best for you. To complete your setup, we can install strategically placed grab bars for added stability and peace of mind. These are available in a variety of sizes—including 36" , 18" , 16" , and 14" — enabling us to create a customized support system tailored to your specific needs.
SHOWER VALVES
Behind the wall, the shower valve is the most critical component of your new shower system. We exclusively recommend Delta brand valves for several key reasons: they are exceptionally reliable, simple to service or repair in the future, and offer incredible versatility in their design. Delta provides a wide range of options, from simple, single-function valves to advanced models with integrated diverters. These sophisticated valves can power a complete spa-like experience with up to three different fixtures—like a stationary shower head, a handheld sprayer, and body jets—and offer up to five distinct functions. A major advantage is that we can position the control handle wherever is most convenient for you, ensuring comfortable access. The only placement limitation is that we avoid installing plumbing on exterior walls to eliminate any risk of your pipes freezing. Now that we ' ve covered the internal mechanics, we can move on to the fun part: choosing the look of your handle and fixtures, which starts with selecting the perfect finish.

FINISHES
Choosing the right finish is how you personalize the look of your new shower and tie the whole room together. Delta offers a wide array of beautiful and durable options to perfectly match your bathroom ' s style. While your shower controls and heads are available in this full range, it is important to note that matching accessories like grab bars and seats may have a more limited selection of available finishes, so we will confirm availability as we finalize your design.

SHOWER DOORS
Complete your new shower installation with an elegant glass shower door. A perfect alternative to shower curtains, glass doors create a clean, modern look and can make your bathroom feel more spacious and bright. Shower doors are available in a variety of styles, including sliding, pivot, and hinged options, to suit any bathroom layout. To seamlessly integrate with your bathroom ' s decor, the metal frames and hardware come in many finishes.
